Manor House
Work in Progress
We have been appointed to explore the re-use and refurbishment options of a Grade II listed Manor House in East Sussex.
Originally built as a large single family dwelling in the 17th century, the property was adapted and extended into educational use throughout the 20th century.
We have recently completed Phase 01 of this project which involved the re-building of the properties original roof, having fallen into severe disrepair. We achieved full planning and listed building consent to faithfully reconstruct the heritage fabric, while updating the roof in line with modern day performance and access requirements.
For Phase 02, we are exploring a number of design solutions for the property and its surrounding context, including removal of more recent unsympathetic additions. The emerging proposals will require careful conservation and retro-fitting of the original building fabric in order to secure the building’s future use.
